I'll dominate 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Ex two time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the novice continues to be one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers met for the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually happening.
